Types of Sports bets

Posted by admin

There are several types of sports betting. Here, we are going to look at some of the most common types of sports bets.

Straight bets

The teams on which the money is wagered must win by the point spread that the bettor gives at the time of the wager. When there is a tie, it is known as ‘no action’ and in such a case, the money is deposited back in to the account of the bettor.

Halftime

Here, the wager is placed on the odds for either the first or the second half of the game. The bettor needs to put all the wagers on a single half for action. The wagers in this type of bet are calculated in the same way as in the straight wager.

Money Line Bets

The team on which the bettor has wagered needs to win the game. The amount laid varies and the bettor keeps the money line that is read during the wager irrespective of the line movement.

Totals

In this type of betting, the wagered is calculated based on the combined score of both the teams.
These were some of the types of sports betting that are mostly practiced by majority of sports bettors.

Baseball and Social Media: The Future Is Here ?

Posted by admin

Social media and networking has influenced all aspects of life, so it is quite natural that popular sports such as baseball cannot escape it. Renowned baseball teams and baseball players are known to be frequenting social media sites such atwitter and Facebook to interact with their fans. Though some do look at this as another distraction for players, many see it as a good interaction with their supporters.

Although no baseball team has banned any player from doing so most baseball coaches feel that the players may get too involved in networking and lose focus of their goals. Most people including players and coaches do feel that, if done in moderation and sensibly, social media networking can actually boost the players’ morale.

Weekly Gets Win No.700 For The Volunteers

Posted by admin

Tennessee is a sports betting favorite to win it all this season when it comes women’s softball in the NCAA, and a major part of that is good coaching. Co-head coach Karen Weekly has been a big part of their success, and she reached a milestone on the weekend when her Lady Volunteers claimed a victory at the Cathedral City Classic.

The Cathedral City Classic is a meeting of the best softball teams in the country, and this year was no exception as seven of the eight teams in last year’s World Series were in the field, along with 14 of the top 25 teams. That means it is definitely more special to get your 700th career win in such a deep field, but that’s what Weekly did when the Lady Volunteers defeated BYU 4-1 on Friday afternoon. Weekly, who is 477-152-2 in 10 years in Knoxville, shares the title of head coach with husband Ralph and will have to go down as one of the greatest coaches the sport has ever seen. There will be plenty more wins on the horizon for Weekly as she has a very talented team for the 2011 season, and she has a very good pitching staff powered by a pair of sisters Ellen, a freshman, and Ivy, a sophomore. The Similarity of Softball and Roulette

Posted by admin

I don’t know if you have ever noticed resemblance between roulette and softball, both contain a ball, in softball it is handed out by the pitcher while in a casino it’s handed out by the dealer, anything beyond the hit is up to you and how you calculated the game, if you are a softball coach you arranged from advance where all the players positions are, in roulette you calculate positioning your chips in advance figuring out where the ball will go.
When it comes to roulette, playing online roulette is also fun, same as in softball you can place many players in the same area exactly like in roulette, there is a great rush if the ball falls exactly where you planned it and I hope you get to buy a yacht from planning it right

Baseball Remains a Staple

Posted by admin

While football may have surpassed baseball in popularity in recent years, baseball remains a staple of American society. The impact of betting in baseball has been well documented. The Black Sox scandal in 1919 left a black mark on the sports betting community and casino community as well. All-time hits leader Pete Rose was banned for life for betting on baseball while he was managing the Cincinnati Reds. Despite these regrettable incidents, betting on baseball is still enormously popular in the United States. Here are a few different ways to bet on baseball.

Poker and softball couldn’t be more different in many ways, but they do share some similarities. SoftBall Pitch – More Tips and Advice for The Perfect Pitch

Posted by admin

Practice makes perfect, this sentence is very correct, keep practicing as much as you can.
For changing the height of your pitch you have to alter your release point, when released the ball can go up high as 12 feet, a good pitcher can throw strikes that high.

Practice throwing strikes and always keep in focus, when you have a great ability of throwing strikes practice throwing balls in specific locations, when you master that you are in a great place.
Experiment as much as you can on many different things: release points, grips, pitching motions – everything that makes you a greater pitcher.
Pitching is one of the hardest jobs so always stay alert and keep in focus and relax as much as you can, relaxing is very important.

SoftBall Pitching – Throwing a Great Pitch – Useful Information and Advice

Posted by admin

Here is some information and great tips you need to know before serving a pitch:
- Find a field for SoftBall with a home plate and pitching mound, it requires practice becoming a great pitcher and it is a lot easier to gauge when you have a mound and home plate.

- You have to stand with your feet even and about shoulder width apart behind the rubber or instead put your right foot on the rubber, you have to be in a position you are comfortable in

- Get a good grip on the softball using your right hand and performing a circle grip using your thumb and index fingers around the softball(widest part), practice on a soda can if you have to.

- Begin your motion with your right hand in front of you

- If your right foot isn’t on the rubber now it’s time time to step up and at the exact time bring your right arm back behind you, if you already started with your right foot on the rubber without any other motion move your arm back.

- Step forward using a smooth motion with your left foot past the rubber and move your right arm forward, the ball should trace the bottom half of the circle as well as your hand, use the elasticity of your arm

- When your hand is about waist level release the ball

- Make sure your arm is pointing almost straight up, that will help your pitch staying straight

Most importantly always be alert and ready.
